McCook Bison Golfers Win Hastings Invite

McCook Bison Boys golf team travels to Hastings on April 24th to play in the Hastings St. Cecilia Golf Invitational at Southern Hills Golf Course. The Bison came away with the victory with a team score of 320. Adams Central and Grand Island Central Catholic tied for second with teams scoring 331. 

Landon Kmoch led the Bison with a tie for 2nd finish scoring a 77. Bison also brought home two more medals with Reid Loop 5th carding a 78, and Kolton Koetter 7th with an 80. Other Bison scores were Cole Graham scoring an 85 and Trenton Raile scoring a 93. 

Comments from Head Coach Ben Vetrovsky: "Really nice to come away with a team victory at the St. Cecilia Invite. The number one goal for the day is for the players to play the district site, and to play well is awesome to see. This should give us some confidence leading into the last few weeks of the season. 

Landon Kmoch continues to play at a really high level throughout the season. This is another top 5 finish for him and I look forward to seeing him possibly win an invite this year. Reid Loop had a nice round as well shooting even par on the back nine. He continues to gain confidence in his game. Kolton Koetter had our best average of the week between the two invites at Scottsbluff and Hastings. He is so close to breaking the 80 mark and I believe he will do that next week.

We are going to have a few days off before we tee it up at Ogallala for the Southwest Conference Invitational on Thursday May 2nd."
